The first step toward 3D printing, finding the right material
Each material has its own characteristics and production methods. The choice of materials available to you is divided into several broad categories.
Allows parts to be produced quickly and economically. The technologies used are FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) or SLS (Selective Laser Sintering), a process that gives access to parts that are resistant and adapted to mechanical stress. This production method offers the possibility of creating complex geometries. The accessibility of these technologies makes them ideal for small series production and prototyping.
Made using SLM (Selective Laser Meleting) or MBJ (Metal Binder Jetting) technology. A suitable solution for small series production. By combining the technical characteristics of the metals available and the ability of the technology to create a complex architecture, new challenges come into play: weight savings, increased performance, cost reduction. Suitable for all sectors, metal 3D printing opens the way to new markets and a more economical means of production.
A PBF process (Powder Bed Fusion) is used. Ceramic printing is used in the medical, aeronautical, industrial and art sectors. Its technical properties, strength and the capacity of the technology allow the creation of complex parts.
SLA (Stereolithography) technology should be used. Resin printing provides an excellent surface finish and therefore a precise finish. Ideal for the creation of figurines, models or in the medical sector.
The associated technology is LDM (Liquid Deposition Modeling). This process, used in the construction industry, allows better management of risks and delivery times. Construction on demand gives access to a reduction in the consumption of materials, for a better controlled and safer production with less logistic installation.
